Is there any possibility of trading Trouba? Trading 8 million off the Cap would be fantastic. I could see Colorado being interested since they have loads of Cap Space and are a bit weak on D. Maybe something around Jost or Kaut?

Trading TonyD will be something we regret for a long time. He was on pace for a 65 point season and played better in his own end than most give him credit for. He has the exact toughness/grit Gorton said he wants to add more of this offseason. It is a problem, but I think I’d look to trade Nils over a proven 24 year old.

Agreed but no need to trade either, Nils ELC will end in 2025 the earliest

"That is because a contract of longer than one year for DeAngelo would all but ensure losing 20-year-old righty defenseman Nils Lundkvist to unrestricted free agency on June 2, 2022, without ever getting the Swede to Broadway."

WTF is Brooks smoking? It's not even Lundkvist in the photo they used

Also this jack off

This is honestly one of the worst angles I can remember when it comes to trading a player

25 year old top 5 scoring defensmen to protect a 20 year who hasn't played a (frank)ing minute in North America, Lundkvist is very promising and part of the future but not the immediate future, I think we have so many (frank)ing cuck chart boys who are in love with collecting prospects and never actually competing, make this move and we'll continue to be leaders in prospect pools cause we'll continue to collect top 5 picks with this approach

We have $18.5 mil freeing up at the latest end of this upcoming season and we're worried about extending the 4th leading scorer amongst defensmen who's 25 in order to fit in an ELC for a kid who's a few years away from playing and an uncertain time away from producing at his level???

KreiderBomb had the same initial reaction that I took. Strange story to be floating unless somebody has an agenda and is trying to set something up.

2nd thought, are there off ice issues?

what if Tony D is being completely unreasonable in his contract demands and wants a NMC, you still willing to give him anything he wants?

you can't just ignore the fact that Trouba is signed for the next 6 years and most likely Fox will be a 5 million a year player come summer of 2022

you can't just ignore these things

I really dont think it's a strange story though

the Rangers are loaded on the right side of the blue line and are very weak at center

it makes perfect sense that if there is a strong trade market for Tony D they should explore it, but the trade better be damn good

but people acting like Tony D is absolutely untouchable? c'mon thats crazy

these are the only guys I think are untouchables

Kakko
Shesterkin
Fox and
#1 overall pick

that's it

anybody else can go in the right trade

Panarin, Zibinajed, Kreider, Trouba, they all have NMC's and aren't considered

I think the only way they trade tony is if he prices himself out. If they truly think Nils will be better we can’t have a $5.5-$6.5m 3rd pair rhd.

Not even in the remote ballpark and starting to question my decision to have you draft for Detroit with that offer.

My prediction, if Tony D Goes to arbitration, the number he will submit is 7 million

If they really want to keep ADA and strengthen the center position: trade # 1 for LA's #2 and Alex Turcotte and select Byfield with #2. You have 2 cost controlled centers!

Actually this may be all smoke and mirrors to to distract you from the elephant in the room: King Henrik. They want to appear to do everything possible to honor the King, when knowing they will have to buy him out or trade him!

I am on the record saying that is literally the only trade I would make with the #1 overall pick. I would do that deal.

I would take Smith off your hands to be DETs 3LD for a season if you threw in an incentive.
